Microneedling or Nano-needling?

BOTTOM LINE
Microneedling is the collagen-focused procedure.
Nano-needling is the gentler hydration-and-glow service.

Microneedling, also called collagen induction therapy, uses a professional device with fine sterile needles to create controlled microchannels in the skin. The body’s repair response may support collagen remodeling and improvements in the appearance of texture over time.

It is a procedure, not a facial and not a no-downtime filter.

Thoughtful screening, sterile technique, appropriate depth, preparation, sun protection, and aftercare all matter.

Nano-needling is a gentler, superficial treatment focused on product infusion, hydration, and glow without the same depth or downtime as microneedling. LED may be included as a supportive component according to the service protocol.

It may be used between microneedling treatments or as a maintenance service when a lower-downtime option better fits the skin goal.

Nano-needling does not replace microneedling when the goal requires collagen-focused remodeling, and more services are not always necessary.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on how long the concern has been present, its severity, your overall health, and how your body responds. A long-standing issue usually requires several visits. We will discuss an initial plan and reassess rather than asking you to commit blindly.

Can I receive acupuncture if I am also seeing a physician?

Yes. Acupuncture is often used alongside conventional care. Please share relevant diagnoses, medications, tests, and recommendations. Aura Divina may refer you back to a physician or specialist when symptoms require medical evaluation.

What's the difference between cosmetic acupuncture and microneedling?

Cosmetic acupuncture uses very fine needles on the face and body as part of a whole-person Chinese medicine treatment. Microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin to support collagen renewal. They can serve different goals and may be combined in a thoughtful series.

Do you accept insurance?

Unfortunately, we don't accept insurance. However, we do offer superbills for acupuncture services that you can submit for possible reimbursement.

Common Questions about Microneedling

Does microneedling hurt?

Sensation varies by area and person. It may feel prickly, scratchy, hot, or tender. Comfort measures are discussed during consultation.

Is it safe for melanin-rich skin?

Microneedling can be appropriate across a wide range of skin tones when candidacy, inflammation, technique, sun protection, and aftercare are handled thoughtfully. Anyone prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation deserves especially careful planning.

Can microneedling remove all acne scars?

No. Scar type, depth, tethering, pigment, active acne, and healing response matter. Some scars require combination care or dermatologic procedures.

Can I wear makeup the next day?

Follow the written protocol rather than a universal internet rule. Applying makeup too early can irritate recovering skin or introduce contamination.

Can I get microneedling before vacation?

A sunny, hot, active, or pool centered vacation may not be the best recovery environment. Discuss timing before booking.

Who should postpone microneedling?

Treatment may need to be postponed for active infection, open lesions, sunburn, inflamed acne in the treatment area, uncontrolled skin disease, illness, impaired healing, recent procedures, or medication-related concerns. Consultation is required.

What products are used?
