What is cosmetic acupuncture?

Cosmetic acupuncture uses very fine needles on the face and selected body points within a broader Chinese medicine treatment.

The facial portion is paired with attention to patterns such as tension, sleep, stress, digestion, circulation, and hormonal change when those are relevant to the person’s goals.

The service is not a facelift and does not reproduce the mechanism or result of injectables, surgery, laser procedures, or medical dermatology.

It offers a different path with different strengths, limits, timing, and maintenance.

Meaningful Change

Facial needles are very fine. Brief pinching can occur, especially in sensitive areas. You may also feel warmth, tingling, pressure, or nothing at all. Most people rest during the treatment.

Small bruises can occur. This matters when planning photographs, events, or procedures. Please tell us about blood thinners, bleeding disorders, easy bruising, pregnancy, recent injections or surgery, active skin concerns, and upcoming events.

Results, sensation, and timing

Response varies. Some people notice temporary brightness, relaxation, or reduced facial tension after an early visit. Changes related to texture or a course of care require time and are not guaranteed.

A series may be recommended because the service works through repeated treatment rather than a dramatic one time intervention. The plan should be reviewed according to your response, schedule, comfort, and budget.

What Does it Feel like?

Cosmetic acupuncture combines facial and body acupuncture and usually has little visible downtime beyond possible small bruises. It may be especially appealing when facial tension, stress, sleep, or whole person treatment matters as much as the skin goal.

Microneedling uses a device to create controlled microchannels and is more directly focused on collagen remodeling, texture, fine lines, and certain scars. It commonly involves temporary redness, sensitivity, and aftercare.

Some people choose one. Others use both in a carefully timed plan. More services are not always necessary.

Your First Appointment

We talk

You will have time to explain your health history, current concerns, prior evaluation, medications, goals, and what daily life has been like.

You are welcome to ask questions at any point.

We review

After treatment, we discuss what to notice, how to care for yourself, and when to return.

The plan is reassessed rather than continued automatically.

You Rest

Needles are retained while you rest, often for about 20–30 minutes depending on the visit.

Many people are surprised by how calm or sleepy they feel.

We agree

Before treatment, we explain what we recommend, why, what you may feel, and what areas may be touched or needled.

You can decline or modify any part of the treatment.

We assess

The assessment may include observation, palpation, movement, areas of tenderness, and traditional Chinese medicine findings such as pulse and tongue.

These findings do not replace medical diagnosis or testing.

Common Questions About Cosmetic Acupuncture

Can I combine it with Botox, fillers, lasers, or surgery?

Possibly, but timing and medical guidance matter. Disclose all recent and planned procedures and follow the instructions of the licensed professional performing them.

Is this the same as facial rejuvenation acupuncture?

The terms are often used similarly. Aura Divina uses “cosmetic acupuncture” while emphasizing healthy aging, wholeperson care, and realistic expectations.

Who may need another option first?

A consultation or medical clearance may be needed for active infection, open lesions, uncontrolled skin disease, significant bleeding risk, poor wound healing, recent facial procedures, concerning new lesions, severe symptoms, or goals that require dermatology, dentistry, medical aesthetics, or surgery.

Will it erase deep wrinkles?

It should not be marketed as an eraser. The goal is natural support and a refreshed appearance. Deep structural changes may require different options.

Will I look different right away?

Some people notice a temporary post-treatment glow or relaxation. Meaningful and lasting change cannot be promised after one visit.

Do I need a series?

A series is often recommended, but the final plan depends on goals, response, timing, and budget. Maintenance is optional and should be clearly explained.

Can I receive it before an event?

Plan ahead because bruising is possible. A first session immediately before an important event is not ideal.
